This article describes how to enable SNMP on VMware ESX Server 3.5.
NPM 10.0 and later
After entering the
snmpwalk command, your ESX Server should return information similar to the following:
SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.68184.108.40.206 = STRING: "VMware ESX Server"
SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.68220.127.116.11 = STRING: "3.5.0"
SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.6818.104.22.168 = OID: SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.6822.214.171.124.5.0
SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.68126.96.36.199 = STRING: "153875"
Note: The MIB OID SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.68188.8.131.52 returns the build number for your product, so it may not be the same as the build number displayed above.
