Disable alerts, Syslog and trap rules in NPM

Overview

This article provides steps to disable alerts, syslog and trap rules in NPM.

Environment

  • NPM 10.x and NPM 11.x
  • This does not apply to NPM 12.x

Steps

Advanced Alerts

  1. Click Start > All Programs > SolarWinds Orion > Alerting, Reporting, and Mapping > Advanced Alert Manager.
  2. Launch the Alert Manager, and then click the blue triangle.
  3. Click Disable All Actions.
  4. Clear this option to re-enable all the active alerts.


Basic Alert Manager

  1. Click Start > All Programs > SolarWinds Orion > Alerting, Reporting, and Mapping > Basic Alert Manager.
  2. Launch the Alert Manager, and then click the blue triangle.
  3. Click Disable All Actions.
  4. Clear this option to re-enable all the active alerts.

 

Syslog rules

  1. Click Start > All Programs > SolarWinds Orion > Syslog and SNMP Taps > Syslog Viewer.
  2. Click File > Settings > Alert/Filter Rules.
  3. Clear all the available rules.
  4. Select the rules to re-enable them.


Trap rules

  1. Click Start > All Programs > SolarWinds Orion > Syslog and SNMP Taps > Trap Viewer.
  2. Click to File > Settings > Alert/Filter Rules.
  3. Clear all the available rules.
  4. Select the rules to re-enable them.
