Dependency issues in NPM 12.0.1

Updated December 21, 2016

Overview

This article addresses the following issues:

  • The dependency information is empty after deleting custom properties.
  • Dependencies are removed after upgrading to NPM 12.0.1.

Environment

NPM 12.0.1

Resolution

Note: This is a known issue and will be fixed in the next release.

  1. Go to C:\inetpub\SolarWinds\Orion\Admin\js\DependenciesGrid.js.
  2. Open the file using a text editor and go to the following section:
    dataStore = new Ext.data.Store({
    proxy: new Ext.data.HttpProxy({
    url: "/Orion/Services/DependenciesTree.asmx/GetDependencies",
    method: "POST",
    success: function (response, options) {
  3. Change the section to the following:

    dataStore = new Ext.data.Store({
    proxy: new Ext.data.HttpProxy({
    url: "/Orion/Services/DependenciesTree.asmx/GetDependencies",
    method: "POST",
    timeout: 120000,
    success: function (response, options) {

  4. If the issue is not resolved, increase the timeout value to 240000.
  5. Restart to make your changes.
