This article provides steps to delete stalled NULL VIM hosts values that cannot be deleted from the Orion VIM summary page.

  • If your Orion server and SQL server are Virtual Machines, create a snapshot before making any changes.
  • If your Orion server and SQL server are physical machines, create a backup your Orion database (SolarwindsOrion) and NCM database (ConfigMgmt) for NCM 7.2.2 and earlier versions.
See Creating a backup using SQL Server Management Studio.

1. Open Database Manager from the Start menu.

2. Click Add Default Server.

4. Expand SolarWindsOrion instance, and then open [dbo].[VIM_Hosts] table.

5. Run the pre-defined query:
SELECT TOP 1000 * FROM [dbo].[VIM_Hosts]

6. Click Enable table Editing.

7. Highlight\select the row/s of the host you want to delete.

8. Right-click on the row and click Delete selected rows.

Once done, refresh your Virtualization summary page.
