Database configuration failed: Exception while configuring plugin Orion Core Services

Issue:

NPM upgrade installation fails at the database configuration part with the error:

Exception while configuring plugin Orion Core Services component Orion Database. Invalid object name 'dbo.ThresholdsNames'.

 

Cause:

Unable to load the previous version of InformationService.msi as this file was missing in the default location.  Due to this missing file, the previous version of SolarWinds Information Service fails to uninstall.

 

Resolution:

  1. Use the windows uninstaller cleanup utility to uninstall each of service that fails such as:

    • Information Service,

    • Job Engine v2,

    • Core,

    • Network Atlas,

    • Collector, and

    • Improvement Program.

  2. Provide the correct path if any of the installer files is found missing (e.g. vc_red.msi in path C:\Users\All Users\Solarwinds\Installers\).

  3. Run the NPM upgrade installation by double-clicking the installer file downloaded from the Customer Portal.

  4. Run the Configuration Wizard.
