Overview

This article addresses the issue where Database Maintenance does not complete and stops progressing while Removing orphaned data from CustomPollerStatistics.

Environment

All NPM versions

Cause

This can occur when retention settings are set too high, causing the following tables to increase drastically in size:

dbo.customPollerStatistics_Detail

dbo.customPollerStatistics_Hourly

dbo.customPollerStatistics_Daily

Resolution

Note: Back up the Database before running any queries.

  1. Reduce retention settings to the following:
    • Detailed UnDP Statistics Retention: 3 days
    • Hourly UnDP Statistics Retention: 14 days
    • Daily UnDP Statistics Retention: 180 days
  2. Verify and adjust the setting on Universal Device Pollers > Pooling interval and Keep Historical Data.
  3. You may have to delete data from the following tables:
    • Truncate Table CustomPollerStatistics_Hourly

    • Truncate Table  CustomPollerStatistics_Daily

    • Truncate Table  CustomPollerStatistics_Detail
