Customize the message in Alerts

Overview

This article provides steps to write a customized message for alerts. 

 

Environment

NPM version 11.5.x

Steps

1. Click Settings > Manage Alerts.

2. Select the Alert you want to edit, and then click Edit Alert. 

3. Go to Trigger Action > Add Action.

4. Add the Send an email or a page action if it not already there, then click configure the action / edit.  

 

5. Expand Message & now we can edit the Message contents

 

 

 

5. In the message box, build your message by using a combination of text and variables. 

6. To insert variables click Insert variables  and a new dialogue box with all available variables will appear

Message not Displaying Correctly In Email Body

 

If the Message Body is not Displaying correctly in the Email Message Body, this may be due to incorrect Formatting that will not show up in the Alert Message Body.

Copy the message Body Into Word, and select the Show or Hide Formatting marks, any inconsistences in the formatting will show, and can be corrected.
