Create an alert when interface speed has changed

Overview

This article describes how to set up an alert when the interface speed changes.

Environment

NPM 12.0 or later

Steps

  1. Log in to the Orion Web Console using an administrator account.
  2. Go to Alerts and Activities > Alerts > Manage Alerts > Add New Alert.
  3. Set the following conditions under the Trigger Condition tab:
    • I want to alert on: Interface
    • The Scope of alert: All objects in my environment

  4. In The Actual Trigger Condition, click Browse all Events.
  5. Select Speed has changed under the Database column name.
  6. The Trigger Condition will look like the following:
  7. Click Next for the following options:
    • Reset Condition (No reset condition - Trigger this alert each time the trigger condition is met)
    • Time of Day (Alert is always enabled, no schedule needed)
    • Trigger Actions (Send an Email/Page)
    • Reset Actions
    • View Summary of Alert Configuration
  8. Click Submit.
