Create an alert for a node when the interface administrative status changes

Overview

The following are the steps in creating an alert for node's interface administrative when the status changes to Up, Unknown or Shutdown.

 

Environment

NPM 11.5 and up

 

Steps

  1. Log in to the Orion Web Console.
  2. Go to Settings > Manage Alerts.
  3. Specify a name for your alert then proceed to Trigger conditions.
  4. Select "I want to alert on" - Interface.
  5. Set up the following OR trigger conditions. If Action Type is unavailable, click Browse All Fields then search for it.
  6. Node - Status - is equal to - Up
    1. Administrative Status as changed (Interface Event)
    2. New Administrative Status - is equal to - (Shutdown,Up or Unknown)
  7. Proceed through the next steps.
