Create an alert for Interface Utilization over 50%

Overview

This article provide steps on how create an alert when Interface Utilization exceeds 50%.

Environment

NPM 11.5 and later

Steps

  1. Log in to the Orion Web Console using an administrator account.
  2. Go to Settings > Manage Alerts > click Add New Alert.
  3. In the Trigger Condition, select Interface in the I want to alert on drop-down list.
  4. In the Scope of alert, select either All Objects in my Environment or Only Following set of object.
  5. Specify the actual trigger condition:
  6. Choose Current Value (Transmit Utilization) and Current Value (Receive Utilization).
  7. Set value for the alert to trigger (i.e. 50%).
  8. Click Next to proceed to Reset Condition tab, choose the preferred option.
  9. Click Next to proceed to Time of Day tab, choose the preferred option.
  10. Click Next to proceed to Trigger Action tab, create your preferred action/s.
  11. Click Next to proceed to Reset Action tab, create your preferred action/s.
  12. Click Next to proceed to Summary tab to review all settings.
  13. Click Submit to save changes.

When the interface utilization exceeds 50%, you will be alerted in the specified way.
