Overview

When you try to access the Node Details Page, you encounter an error

Could not connect to net.tcp://******/orion/npm/businesslayer. The connection attempt lasted for a time span of 00:00:00. TCP error code 10049: The requested address is not valid in its context [::1]:0.

Cause 

This is related to IPv6, TCP error code 10049: The requested address is not valid in its context [::1]:0.

Resolution

  1. Follow the steps in Error: Could not connect to net.tcp://{Hostname}:17777/orion/npm/businesslayer. The connection attempt lasted for a time span of 00:00:20.9687500.
  2. Disable IPV6 on the main and additional pollers. See Microsoft KB, How to disable IPv6 or its components in Windows for more information.
  3. Create an entry in the Hosts file: 
    a. Enter in your IP Address and your Hostname in the Format Below
        0.0.0.0 (Ip Address) Hostname 
    For example, 102.54.94.97     rhino.acme.com          # source server
  4. Restart all services and reboot the server.
