WebinarUpcoming Webinar: Know What’s Changed – with NEW Server Configuration Monitor

Change management in IT is critical. But, even with a good change management process, changes are too often not correctly tracked, if at all. The configuration of your servers and applications is a key factor in their performance, availability, and security. Many incidents can be tracked back to an authorized (and sometimes unauthorized) configuration change, whether to a system file, configuration file, or Windows® Registry entry. Join SolarWinds VP of product management Brandon Shopp to discover how the new SolarWinds® Server Configuration Monitor is designed to help you.

Overview

This article describes how to configure the short date format that is displayed in the Orion server to DD/MM/YYYY. The short date format is the date format that is displayed to the user.

Environment

All NPM versions

Steps

Note: This should be done on the Main Poller.

  1. Change ShortDate format for account which run SW Module Engine. By default this SW Module Engine service is run under "Local System" account (SID S-1-5-18)
    See https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/lib...sktop/aa379649
  2. Edit the registry. Go to run and type in regedit.exe
Edit HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-18\Control Panel\International\sShortDate registry key for example to "d/M/yyyy"
(S-1-5-18 is the SID of account that is used to run SW Module Engone service)

Please backup the registry as the changes will be permanent.

3. If editing the registry doesn't work, use IE, which should show the correct format.
