Resolution

Perform the following procedures to address the issue:

Replace the Job Engine

  1. Click Start > All Programs > SolarWinds Orion > Advanced Features > Orion Services Manager.
  2. Stop all SolarWinds services.
  3. Rename the current JobEngine35.sdf file as JobEngine35_sdf.old
    Note: The following are default locations of the file:
    • Windows Server 2003: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\SolarWinds\JobEngine.V2\Data\
    • Windows Server 2008: C:\ProgramData\SolarWinds\JobEngineV2\Data\
  4. Create a copy of JobEngine35 - Blank.sdf, and then rename the copy as JobEngine35.sdf
    Note: The following are default locations of the file:
    • Windows Server 2003: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\SolarWinds\JobEngine.V2\Data\
    • Windows Server 2008: C:\ProgramData\SolarWinds\JobEngineV2\Data\
  5. Right-click the new JobEngine35.sdf, and then click Properties.
  6. Clear the Read-only box, and then click OK.
  7. Restart all SolarWinds services in the Orion Services Manager.

Replace the Job Tracker

  1. Click Start > All Programs > SolarWinds Orion > Advanced Features > Orion Services Manager
  2. Stop all SolarWinds services.
  3. Rename the current JobTracker.sdf file as JobTracker_sdf.old
    Note: The following are default locations of the file:
    • Windows Server 2003: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\SolarWinds\Collector\Data\
    • Windows Server 2008: C:\ProgramData\SolarWinds\Collector\Data\
  4. Create a copy of JobTracker - Blank.sdf, and then rename the copy as JobTracker.sdf
    Note: The following are default locations of the file:
  5. Windows Server 2003: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\SolarWinds\Collector\Data\
  6. Windows Server 2008: C:\ProgramData\SolarWinds\Collector\Data\
  7. Right-click the new JobTracker.sdf, and then click Properties.
  8. Clear the Read-only box, and then click OK.
  9. Restart all SolarWinds services in the Orion Services Manager.

Replace the Polling Collector

  1. Click Start > All Programs > SolarWinds Orion > Advanced Features > Orion Services Manager
  2. Stop all SolarWinds services.
  3. Rename the current PollingController.sdf file as PollingController_sdf.old
    Note: The following are default locations of the file:
  4. Windows Server 2003: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\SolarWinds\Collector\Data\
  5. Windows Server 2008: C:\ProgramData\SolarWinds\Collector\Data\
  6. Create a copy of PollingController - Blank.sdf, and then rename the copy as PollingController.sdf
    Note: The following are default locations of the file:
  7. Windows Server 2003: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\SolarWinds\Collector\Data\
  8. Windows Server 2008: C:\ProgramData\SolarWinds\Collector\Data\
  9. Right-click the new PollingController.sdf, and then click Properties.
  10. Clear the Read-only box, and then click OK.
  11. Restart all SolarWinds services in the Orion Services Manager.

Repair the Job Engine

  1. Open the SolarWinds Installers directory.
    Notes:
    • Windows Server 2003: C:\Documents and Settings\All users\Application Data\SolarWinds
    • Windows Server 2008: C:\ProgramData\Solarwinds\Installers
  2. Run Jobengine.msi
  3. Select Repair.
  4. Complete the Installation and Configuration Wizards, as appropriate, for your installation.

Repair the Job Engine V2

  1. Open the SolarWinds Installers directory.
    Notes:
    • Windows Server 2003: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\SolarWinds\Installers\
    • Windows Server 2008: C:\ProgramData\Solarwinds\Installers
      Note:The Program Data folder is hidden by default. To show this folder, navigate to Organize > Folder > Search Options > View tab, and then select the radio button that reads Show Hidden Files, folders, and drives. 
  2. Run Jobengine.v2.msi
  3. Select Repair.
  4. Complete the Installation and Configuration Wizards, as appropriate, for your installation.

Repair the SolarWinds Information Service

  1. Open the SolarWinds Installers directory.
    Notes:
    • Windows Server 2003: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\SolarWinds\Installers\
    • Windows Server 2008: C:\ProgramData\Solarwinds\Installers
      Note: The Program Data folder is hidden by default. To show this folder, navigate to Organize > Folder > Search Options > View tab, and then select the radio button that reads Show Hidden Files, folders, and drives.
  2. Run InformationService.msi
  3. Select Repair.
  4. Complete the Installation and Configuration Wizards, as appropriate, for your installation.

Repair the SolarWinds Collector Service

  1. Open the SolarWinds Installers directory.
    Notes:
    • Windows Server 2003: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\SolarWinds\Installers\
    • Windows Server 2008: C:\ProgramData\Solarwinds\Installers
  2. Run CollectorInstaller.msi
  3. Select Repair.
  4. Complete the Installation and Configuration Wizards, as appropriate, for your installation.

Repair Orion Core Services

  1. Click Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs
  2. Click SolarWinds Orion Core Services, and then click Change.
  3. Click Next to start the Setup Wizard, and then click Repair.
  4. Complete the Repair and Configuration Wizards, as appropriate, for your installation.
