Clear NPM alerts for devices that are not available

Issue:
Alerts are triggered for BGP neighbors that no longer exist

Cause:
BGP neighbors are removed from device(s) but remain as "Not Available" on the Orion's resources, which causes the alerts to trigger 

Resolution:

  1. Stop the SolarWinds Services - Starting / Stopping Orion Services.
  2. Open Orion Database Manager (Start > All Programs > SolarWinds Orion > Advanced Features)
  3. Connect to your Database server (if not on the list please add it with relevant credentials)
  4. Before doing any work on your database please make sure that you have a current backup, as this will make a permanent change to your database.
    Note: To backup the database, refer to the KB -
  5. Right click on ANY table and select the Query Table
  6. Overwrite the existing query with:
    SELECT * FROM NPM_RoutingNeighbor WHERE IsDeleted = 1
  7. Click 'Refresh'
  8. To delete certain rows (records) click on "Enable Table Editing", then right click on the left (grey cell) of the row (select the entire row) then click Delete the selected row(s)
  9. Start the SolarWinds Services - Staring / Stopping Orion Services.
  10. Refresh the Webconsole page where the routing neighbor is displayed to confirm change
