Overview

This article provides steps to change the host name used by the the Orion SDK to connect to the SolarWinds Information Service (SWIS).

Environment

NPM version 10.1 or earlier

Steps

  1. In a text editor, open the file, SolarWinds.InformationService.exe.config.
    Note: The default location of this file is Volume:\Program Files\SolarWinds\Orion\Information Service\2.0.
  2. Locate the following section:

    <host>
    <baseaddresses>
    <add baseaddress="https://localhost:17778/SolarWinds/InformationService">
    </add></baseaddresses>
    </host>


     
  3. Change localhost to the hostname, IP address, or fully-qualified domain name (FQDN) of the server to which you are trying to connect.
  4. Save SolarWinds.InformationService.exe.config.
  5. Restart the SolarWinds Information Service, as follows:
    1. Click Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services.
    2. Right-click SolarWinds Information Service, and then click Restart.
