To change the color for the Event Types within the web console, you will have to make changes to the Orion database with the 'EventTypes' table.
Within the table there is a column called 'BackColor' which holds the Decimal color value. You can change this value within the database by editing this value for each EventType.

Before doing any work on your database please make sure that you have a current backup, as this will make a permanent change to your database.

To backup the database, refer to your vendor documentation.

The type of SQL query that you could use to edit these columns is explained using the below example:
  1. The values you would need to change would be the 'BackColor' and 'EventType'.
  2. To run the following query, go to Programs > SolarWinds Orion > Advanced Features > Database Manager.Update [dbo].[EventTypes] Set BackColor = '16761024' where EventType = '141'.
  3. You can use the Events table to help figure out which event types you need to change in the EventTypes table. The following is an example of a website with the Decimal Color values - RGB Color Palette Chart.

Additionally another way to achieve this is to:

1. Open the Database Manager on the Orion Server.

2. Select 'Add default server'.

3. Navigate down to your Database and expand it and find the 'EventTypes' table.

4. Right click 'EventTypes' and select 'Query table...'.

5. Hit Execute query at the top of the page.

6. Enable table editing by selecting the option at the top and navigate down to the Event Type you wish to change the color for.

7. Use the RGB Color Palette Chart from above and copy and paste the decimal number into your BackColor coloum for that Event Type. Hit Enter.

8. Refresh the Orion Web Console and the color change will be made.
