Change a host to poll through vCenter vs Poll ESX server directly

Overview

This article describes how to change an ESX host to poll through vCenter instead of directly.

Environment

  • All NPM versions
  • All SAM versions

Steps

  1. Open the Web Console and go to Virtualization Summary > Virtualization Settings.
  2. Select the box next to the host and choose Poll Through in the drop down.
  3. The current polling method should be dim. Choose Poll through vCenter.
