Cannot add VMWare poller to VCenter when server is managed by agent

Overview

Unable to add a poller for VMWare option to a server that is being managed by an agent in NPM.

Environment

NPM 11.x and later

Cause 

The agent has not installed correctly on the remote server

 

Resolution

  1. Go to Add/Remove Programs on the server where the agent is installed.
  2. Remove the SolarWinds agent.
  3. On the Orion Console, go to Settings -> Manage Agents.
  4. Redeploy the agent to the server.
  5. Once added, edit the node in the NPM Console.
  6. Select the Poll for VMware box.
