WebinarUpcoming Webinar: Know What’s Changed – with NEW Server Configuration Monitor

Change management in IT is critical. But, even with a good change management process, changes are too often not correctly tracked, if at all. Many incidents can be tracked back to an authorized (and sometimes unauthorized) configuration change, whether to a system file, configuration file, or Windows® Registry entry. Join SolarWinds VP of product management Brandon Shopp to discover how the new SolarWinds® Server Configuration Monitor is designed to help you.

Can database compression be turned off on the Orion database

Table of contents

Updated May 22, 2017

In some environments, database administrators may want to turn off the database compression for performance or environmental reasons.

MS SQL database of any Orion Platform system

Compression can be turned off on tables without any issues occurring. However, this is a customization that is not supported by SolarWinds and the procedure would have to be performed at your own risk and with support from Microsoft.
SolarWinds strongly recommendeds to back up your Orion database before making any changes.
