Overview

You are creating new custom report based on SQL query and noticed that the browse option is missing when creating a custom sql report:

Environment

NPM 11.5

Cause

This is a bug in the product and has already been fixed in NPM 12.0.

Resolution

Workaround:

  1. Backup this file:
    \inetpub\SolarWinds\Orion\Reports\Controls\EditDetailDataSeriesControl.ascx.cs
  2. Open the file and find
    protected override void BindViewModel()
  3. after this block:
    if (DataSource != null && !(DataSource.Type == DataSourceType.CustomSQL || DataSource.Type == DataSourceType.CustomSWQL))
    {
    btnTimeSeries.Visible = false;
    }
    add:
    else

    btnTimeSeries.Visible = true;
    }
