Availabilty report shows No Activity to report on the Web Console

Overview

There is a discrepancy in report values between the Orion Web Console and Report Writer. The Availability report displays No Activity when viewed on the Web Console.

Environment

All Orion Platform versions

Cause 

The report was created through the Orion Report Writer with the Group historical data by days option selected. This option is designed to make reports run faster in the Web Console but can display differences in values shown for the said report.

Resolution

  1. Log in to the Orion server as a local administrator.
  2. Open Orion Report Writer by going to Start > All programs > SolarWinds Orion.
  3. Find and edit the affected report.
  4. Clear the Group historical data by days option from the General tab.
  5. Save file.
  6. Open the report on the Web Console.
    The data now displays the same values.
