Overview

Alerts are being sent for node up/down conditions but you are unable to capture the node name.

For example,

NODE IS CURRENTLY UP.Node Name: 192.168.53.20Node IP: 192.168.53.20

Environment

All NPM versions

Cause

The Alert is coming with IP instead of NetBIOS name because the system is not in your DNS resolution.

Resolution

  • Register the system in DNS Or Manually over-right the System Name.
  • Use ${Caption}or ${SysName} in your variables and see which one gives you the information you need.

Note: Do this on the message body.
