Overview

The alert trigger action is not executing external script.

Environment

NPM 11.5 and later

Cause

The data source setup in ODBC was not configured on the main poller and was only setup on the additional poller. The external script is handled by the alerting service on the main poller only.

Resolution

  1. Set the external script to a local path in the C: drive.
  2. Make sure you have created a batch file that will run the external program.
  3. Executing an External Program guide.
