Before you begin:
Before you proceed with the resolution, confirm that you experience this exact issue by performing the following steps:
2016-03-22 11:52:51,638 [pool-20-thread-1] ERROR com.solarwinds.vman.orion.collector.JobResultDispatcher:138 - sending results to VIM failed
java.net.SocketTimeoutException: connect timed out
To resolve this issue, perform the following procedure:
1) In the adapter settings with ip 172.16.6.29, select IPv4 Properties, there open Advanced settings. Uncheck the “Automatic metric” option and set Interface metric to 1 and save the changes
Once you do that, wait a moment, then check Engines table to see if the table contains correct IP, if it does, re-run the synchronization wizard, that should update IP that VMan is using to send data to
Additionally, it may also be necessary to modify the /etc/hosts file in the Virtualization Manager appliance to make sure that it can resolve the host name of the Orion server:
After performing these procedures, storage data from Virtualization Manager should be available in the Orion Web Console.
