Overview

This article gives you a step by step guide to create an alert to trigger when a node reboots, using the Advanced alert manager.

Environment

NPM 11.0.1 and earlier

Steps

  1. Open Advanced Alert Manager in your Orion server.
    Start > All Programs > SolarWinds Orion > Alerting, Reporting and Mapping.
  2. Select New to create an alert.
  3. Configure the following tabs:
    a. General: Enter the name of the alert.
    b. Trigger Condition:
        Type of property to monitor - Node
        Add a simple condition
        
    Last Boot - Has Changed
    c. Reset Condition: Reset when trigger conditions are no longer true
    d. Alert Suppression: --------------------
    e. Time of Day: Set a specified time and day of the week.
    f. Trigger Actions: Select preferred actions
    g. Reset Actions: Select preferred actions
    h. Alert Sharing: ---------------
