WebinarUpcoming Webinar: Know What’s Changed – with NEW Server Configuration Monitor

Change management in IT is critical. But, even with a good change management process, changes are too often not correctly tracked, if at all. The configuration of your servers and applications is a key factor in their performance, availability, and security. Many incidents can be tracked back to an authorized (and sometimes unauthorized) configuration change, whether to a system file, configuration file, or Windows® Registry entry. Join SolarWinds VP of product management Brandon Shopp to discover how the new SolarWinds® Server Configuration Monitor is designed to help you.

Overview:

These steps outline the procedure to add bulk nodes to the ignore list and monitor only the required interfaces.

This is also valid if you want to add a single interface to Ignore list.

Environment:

Applies to:  NPM v10.1.x

Steps:

  1. Click Web Console > Settings > Network Sonar Discovery > Scheduled Discover Results.
  2. Select the nodes to be added to the ignore list which has xx new interface(s).
  3. Click Import Nodes.
  4. Click Next in the Device Types to Import screen and it would list the nodes you have previously selected.
  5. Select all the interfaces in the list of Interfaces box, and then click Next.
  6. Click Next for Volumes and Applications screen.
  7. Click Ignore in the Import Preview screen. All the selected nodes along with their associated interfaces, volumes and so on, would be moved to the ignore list.
  8. Click Import to complete the importing process, and then click Finish.
  9. Click Discovery Ignore List.  The nodes that were moved to the ignore list will appear at the bottom.
  10. Click  to expand the interfaces. Check all the interfaces that you want to remove from the ignore list.
  11. Click Remove from Ignore List.
  12. Click Scheduled Discover Results.
  13. Select the nodes that have new interface(s) that you want to monitor.
  14. Click Next until you reach the Import Preview screen.
  15. Click Import, and then click Finish.
