Add Account Limitation using IP Address Pattern

Overview

This article provides steps on how to create Account limitations for Individual Accounts or Account Groups using the IP Address Pattern.

Environment

All versions of Orion products

Steps

  1. From the Orion Web Console, go to Settings.
  2. In Settings, under Use Accounts click Manage Accounts.
  3. Select either the Individual Account or Group Account, and click Edit.
  4. Scroll down to Account Limitation and click Add Limitation.
  5. Through the different options, scroll down to choose IP Address Pattern.
  6. In the field there are different patterns that can be used to select what IPs the account is limited too:
    1. 10.199.6.* This will cover all IPs from 10.199.6.0 to 10.199.6.255
    2. 10.199.6.* OR 10.199.7.* This will cover all IP address in both ranges.
    3. 10.199.6.1 This will only allow the account to see node with the IP: 10.199.6.1.
