Active diagnostics upgrade errors on HA system

User seeing the Update available option when running the Active diagnostics and when selecting this the system returned an error:

Product: SolarWinds Active Diagnostics -- A newer version of SolarWinds Active Diagnostics is already installed.

Installation success or error status: 1603.


  • NPM 12.1 HA



Active diagnostics not installed on Secondary server.



  1. On primary server copy the Active diagnostics MSI from this hidden folder c:\programdata\solarwinds\installers.
  2. Paste the installer into the same location on the Secondary server.
  3. Run the SolarwindsActiveDiagnostics.msi to install the Active diagnostics on the secondary poller.
