This article explains the undocumented behavior of a triggered active alert when a managed alert for same object's trigger condition is changed.

NPM 11.5.x and later

Flow of behavior:

  • Alert is triggered, alert is shown in active alerts.
  • Alert trigger condition changed in alert configuration then saved.
  • Original Triggered Alert object will still be found in active alerts view.
  • A new object based on the new changed trigger condition can be found.
  • Old triggered active alerts can be cleared by disabling and then re-enabling the alert.
