Account limitation does not show all nodes assigned

Overview

This article provides a possible solution to an issue where an account limitation does not allow user to see all nodes defined in the custom property, such as, Country.

When you create a custom property called for example, Country, you assigned nodes to this property.

When you assign this property to a user, you cannot see all the nodes that you expected to see in All Nodes list.

Environment

NPM 11.5.3 and earlier

Cause

The problem was caused by a space added in the Country. When the configuration was done, some nodes were assigned with "Country" and some were assigned with "Country ".

The space at the end makes an additional character which in result is picked up as a different property.

Resolution

  1. As an Admin, go to the node that you cannot see when you use the account with limitations.
  2. Click Edit Node.
  3. Scroll down to Custom Properties.
  4. Make sure that the Custom Property that you have assigned to the node does not have a space at the end and that it is spelled correctly.
