Database was migrated to a new server and upgraded the application server. The additional web server upgrade failed as it could not talk to new sql database server.

Error description:

Can't receive data from SolarWinds Information Service

A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider. error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server)

The network path was not found.

All NPM versions

Installation was pointed to an SQL server that no longer existed.

  1. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\swnetperfmon.db and edit the config file where it is storing the cached data of the old SQL server.
  2. Change this to the new server and relaunch the AWS installer.
