Files (i.e. job results, configurations) cannot be saved to the network share.

  • NCM 7.2
  • NCM 7.2.1
  • NCM 7.2.2
  • NCM 7.3
  • NCM 7.3.1
  • NCM 7.4

NCM job runs as a service on the under Local System account and permissions are set as such in respect to the services responsible to run the job. Since this is running under the Local System account an error will be encountered if trying to write to a drive not residing on the local server. Modifying permissions to the services responsible will result in other Orion failures and should not be performed.

Upgrade to NCM 7.3.2 or later to resolve this issue since from this version it allows to set a domain account with sufficient rights to access both the Orion Servers/files and the shared resource and files desired to be written to.

To configure account:

  1. login to the Orion Webconsole
  2. go to Settings > NCM Settings > Advanced Settings > Network Share Settings
  3. check the box and provide Username and Password (This account must have sufficient permissions on each server and folder location to read and write the files

*** NOTE***

If the folder you are wanting to save the files to,  does already not exist, the folder will need to be created manually.  NCM will not create the folder.

If the upgrade is not possible the only option is to save files to the Orion Polling Engine the device is managed by and manually move the files to a different location if needed.
