Overview

Intermittent error is received on the Orion Web Console Summary page. The following error message is received:

Object Reference not set to an instance of an object

Environment

NCM 7.0 and later

Cause

This issue can be related to the NPM/NCM “Enabled Energy Wise Nodes” chart resource on the page. A third-party Infragistic object controls the chart that when it crashes, the Orion Web Console throws the error.

Resolution

  1. Log in to the Web Console with Manage Views permissions.
  2. Click Settings > Manage Views.
  3. Select the Orion Summary Home view and then click Edit
  4. Search and remove the Enabled Energy Wise nodes resource.
  5. Click Done
