Using NCM Connection Tester

Overview

This article describes how to use the Connection Tester tool as an alternative to PuTTY and other clients. This tool is part of NCM and is located in the installation folder of NCM.

Environment

NCM 7.2 and later

Steps

  1. Log in to the Orion server.
  2. Go to the folder location.
    Note: The default location is C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\NCM\Tools
  3. Execute ConnectionTester.exe
  4. Supply the necessary credentials when connecting to the device.

     
  5. Click Connect.
  6. Verify the information on the Connection Log.
