Table of contents

Updated July 11th, 2017

Overview

This article provides a NCM Device Command Template to be used with pfSense (1.3.6.1.4.1.12325.1.1.2.1.1) devices.

Environment

  • All NCM versions
  • Device: pfSense (1.3.6.1.4.1.12325.1.1.2.1.1)

Steps

Depending on the NCM version you are using, follow the relevant steps to add a template. For instructions, refer to the NCM Administrator Guide.

Use following lines as the actual content of the template:

<Configuration-Management Device="pfSense" SystemOID="1.3.6.1.4.1.12325.1.1.2.1.1">
    <Commands>
        <Command Name="RESET" Value=""/>
        <Command Name="Reboot" Value=""/>
        <Command Name="Startup" Value=""/>
        <Command Name="Running" Value=""/>
        <Command Name="DownloadConfig" Value="cat /cf/conf/config.xml"/>
        <Command Name="UploadConfig" Value="${CTRL+D}"/>
        <Command Name="Version" Value="uname -a"/>
        <Command Name="MenuBased" Value="false"/>
        <Command Name="VirtualPrompt" Value="#"/>
    </Commands>
</Configuration-Management>

Note: To copy content without line numbers, hover over the text and click the view source button (View Source). This opens a new window where you can select and copy text without any formatting or line numbering.

Note: The template is configured with an assumption that the user prompt is set to # but you can change it to suit your environment by adjusting the VirtualPrompt command.
