Nexus devices do not require the Enable command when you log in because you are already in Privileged mode. By design, the Connection Profile option does not handle user credentials. Use the No Profile option if device credentials need to be used.

If the Session Tracing option is enabled, it will use a Connection Profile with a user credential that sends the Enable command without an error.

SolarWinds recommends using the No Profile option to avoid any issues.

  1. Go to Edit Node and select the No Profile option. This option forces the menus to configure each line.
  2. Run the Enable command and click Test.
Note: The following error is displayed when the Connection Profile is selected:
Test Failed. The selected protocol requires a login name.
