Overview

This article provides steps to use multiple commands within one configuration type.

This is useful if you need multiple show commands within one configuration file or if you want to switch between device contexts.

Environment

NCM version 7.4 or later

Steps

1. Edit the template you use with the device and add the following commands:

To enable the multi command logic:

<Command Name="UseMultipleDownloadCommands" Value="True"/>

<Command Name="DownloadConfig" Value="${ConfigType}" RegEx="#"/>

To create a custom config type to include, for example, multiple show commands:

<Command Name="foobar" Value="show tech-support ${CRLF}show version | include password${CRLF}"/>

2. Go to Webconsole > Settings > NCM Settings > Configs, and then create a custom config type that will match the custom config from the template. In this case it is named foobar.

3. Click Submit.
