Unable to Backup Config from Wireless Controller

Issue: After upgrading to NCM 7.0.2, config files from the wireless devices could not be backed up.

Cause: This issue occurred because of the timeout error.

Resolution: Increase the timeout values in:

  • Telnet/SSH Connection Timeout (default value is 45 seconds and you could increase this to 200 seconds)
  • Telnet/SSH prompt Timeout (default value is 15 seconds and you could increase this to 150 seconds)

Once the values are adjusted and the application is restarted, re-try config backup.

Setting the Telnet/SSH timeout adjustments in NCM:

1. Login to the Orion Webconsole, go to 'Settings' > 'NCM Settings'.

2. Click 'Protocol Settings' and in the 'Telnet/SSH Settings' set the timeouts and click 'Submit' (sample screen shown below).
