Overview

This article provides information regarding the NCM settings Terminal Server Support and Use Keyborad Interactive Authentication which are used in special circumstances.

Environment

All NCM versions

Detail

Use Keyboard Interactive Authentication - This option should be used when NCM cannot connect to device using SSH. It will switch the WodSSH component and try some alternative way of establishing an SSH connection with a device and may help to troubleshoot connectivity issue.

Terminal Server support – This option was added long time ago with unknown purpose. When this option is enabled, NCM will send additional CRLF (Carriage Return and Line Feed) character right after login. It is similar to defining pre-command containing CRLF but does not need to be defined in the device template. SolarWinds recommends to use this option only in cases where the standard login does not work. In case it is enabled on a device that is working, it may cause log in to fail.
