Overview

When updating NCM Policy Reports, the Solarwinds.BusinessLayerHost.exe is utilizing a high CPU usage of up to 100%.

Environment

NCM 7.0 and later

Cause 

You have downloaded some policy reports from "Thwack" created by other users  forum and imported in NCM . Such Reports are not compatible with the current version of NCM installed. When Updating these reports, theSolarwinds.BusinessLayerHost.exe utilizes high CPU of up to 100%  and causes the system to freeze.  

Resolution

  1. Delete such reports from the Policy Reports. Go to Config > Compliance > Manage Policy Reports > (Select your report you have imported from Thwack ).
  2. Select the reports.
  3. Click Delete.
  4. Update all your policy reports.
