SolarWinds NCM roles

Table of contents

Updated February 20, 2017

Overview

Outside of the Orion roles, in order to view or perform actions in NCM, specific roles need to be assigned to users depending on their need.

SolarWinds NCM uses roles for change management features to determine which accounts are able to perform the tasks of changing device configurations (WebUploader), approving those changes (Administrator), and changing the roles of Orion accounts (Engineer, Administrator).

Every Orion account on the SolarWinds NCM server must have an SolarWinds NCM role associated with it. If as the administrator you do not want certain users to access SolarWinds NCM, then assign those accounts the role None.
