Overview

This article provides steps to prevent the NCM installer from attempting database migration in case migration was already completed and some task were required to be performed on the server (i.e. uninstall of NCM) causing the next run of installer triggering database migration.

Environment

NCM 7.3 and later

Steps

To suspend database migration:

  1. Log in to the server where NCM is installed, in case of multi-engine environments log in to the PPE.
  2. Open Windows Registry.
  3. Create a backup of the registry.
  4. Navigate to below key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\SolarWinds\Orion\NCM
  5. Remove (or rename) NCM key.
  6. After completing these steps, run NCM installer again using the NCM MSI in c:\programdata\solarwinds\installers.
