Orion Services Taking a Long Time to Start

Overview

Orion Web Console and NCM application take a long time to start.

Environment

NCM any version

Cause

NCM's local Config Archive is included within the NCM installation directory, then the SolarWinds Business Layer (SWIS) may take an unusually long time to start; depending on the size of the folder.

Resolution

Move the Config Archive folder to another directory. To do so follow steps below:
 

  1. Log in to the Orion Web Console
  2. Navigate to Settings > NCM Settings > Configs
  3. Change path of the Config Archive to a directory outside of Orion installation directory.
  4. In the Orion Web Console, under Configs > Jobs, for any NCM config export jobs, change the directory target to the new Config Archive path.
  5. In the local file system, move the existing Config Archive folder from the NCM installation directory to another location.
