Overview

For NCM jobs that may be set up run jobs by adding nodes tot he job based on Select Nodes, will not add new nodes added after the job is created. This Criteria is for a definite set of of devices to be included as a job. The selection criteria for this allows one to drill down into a different groups of nodes for the selection process. But once added, no new nodes will be added unless manually done by the administrator.

In order for nodes to be dynamically added, one must have the node selection set to Dynamic Node selection and use the properties needed to select the devices.

Environment

NCM v7.2 or later

Detail

In order for nodes to be dynamically added, you must have the node selection set to Dynamic Node selection and use the properties needed to select the devices.

To accomplish this:

  1. Edit the existing job or create a new job.
  2. In the tab to Choose Nodes, select the option for Dynamic Selection.
  3. Now you can pick and choose the criteria for the nodes to be added.
This will generate a query each time the job is going to run and if new nodes are added to NCM or the device properties have been modified to match the dynamic selection in the job, the node will be included in the job.
