NCM web console displays incorrect date and time for my geographical region

The Windows operating system sets some accounts to the US region by default. A list of NCM services whose account may need to be reconfigured include:

  • SolarWinds Orion NCM Syslog Service
  • SolarWinds Orion NCM Information Service
  • SolarWinds Orion NCM Pooling
  • SolarWinds Orion Network Configuration Manager web site (Application Pool)

To configure your environment so that the NCM web console displays the correct regional settings, you need to:

  1. Use Administrative Tools > Computer Management to define an account (for example, "NCM") that has appropriate permissions (Administrator level) and adjust the region associated with this account.
  2. Redefine the NCM services to run under this account.

Use these Procedures to Adjust Regional Settings


To change the region associated with an account:

  1. Login as the user whose regional settings you need to adjust.
  2. Open the regional settings window (Control Panel > Regional and Language Settings).
  3. Use the dropdown to adjust appropriately and click OK.

To change the account associated with an NCM service:

  1. Use Administrative Services > Services to locate the relevant NCM service.
  2. Right click on the service and open Properties.
  3. Under Log On click This Account, enter the name and password of the account you created.
  4. Restart the NCM service.

To change the account associated with the application pool that services the SolarWinds Orion NCM web site:

  1. Open Administrative Services > Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager and right click SolarWinds Orion Network Configuration Manager in the Web Sites branch of the tree.
  2. Click Properties.
  3. Find the application pool name in Application Pool on the Home Directory resource.
  4. Note the name of the application pool and close the resource.
  5. Find and right click the relevant application pool in the Application Pools branch of the tree.
  6. Select Configurable in the Identity resource and find the appropriate account
  7. Enter the correct password and click Apply.
  8. Click OK
