Overview

The NCM Vulnerability Severity Ratings alert references a vulnerability score or a threshold usage.

Environment

NCM 7.6

Detail

There is a default Orion alert called New Firmware Vulnerability Detected and the Vulnerability alert score threshold setting in this alert allows you to filter new vulnerabilities based on the score and define when the alert should be triggered.

For example, if the setting is set to 5, the alert will be triggered if more than five new vulnerability announcements are found.

The vulnerability score references the NVD (National Vulnerability Database) and the vulnerabilities are given a score based on the following:

  • Low: 0  to 3.9
  • Medium: 4 to 6.9
  • High: 7 to 8.9
  • Critical: 9 to 10
