Overview

NCM inventory has the ability to poll for IP addresses that are discovered by Orion, but are not designated as the Polling Address. This feature can help overcome instances where an ACL may be be blocking ports on IP, but not others and other cases.

Environment

NCM 7.X and later

Resolution

This feature can be disabled if it is causing security concerns by:

  1. Go to Settings > NCM Settings > Node Inventory.
  2. at the bottom of the page, select Disable inventory lookup.
