NCM error when importing devices using Network Discovery

Table of contents

Updated January 9, 2017

Overview

If you are using NCM version 7.5.0 in your environment, then a conflict may prevent you from adding other module objects such as interfaces when running a network discovery.

The following is seen in the core business layer log:

C:\ProgramData\SolarWinds\Logs\Orion\Core.BusinessLayer.log

You may see this exception:

ERROR SolarWinds.Orion.Core.BusinessLayer.DiscoveryImportManager - (null) Exception
occurred during discovery import
System.MissingMethodException: Method not found:
'Boolean SolarWinds.Orion.Core.Common.NodeDetailHelper.IsServerClassificiation

Environment

NCM version 7.5.0 or any other module such as NPM

Detail

This is a know bug. The issue is resolved in NCM 7.5.1.

There is currently no workaround in NCM 7.5.0 for this issue except to upgrade to the service release.
