NCM backups fail on the additional polling engine

Scheduled backups on devices attached to an additional polling engine fail with the following error:

Unable to connect to polling engine [host name] on the relevant server. Verify that NCM 7.3.2 or later is installed on the server

The polling engine time is out of sync for more than five minutes with the main polling engine.


  1. Verify the time on the main polling engine server.
  2. Adjust the time on the additional polling engine to be the same as the main polling engine.
  3. Restart the Orion services on the additional polling engine using Orion Service Manager.
