Overview

The NCM Inventory, whether run manually or by a job, stops responding or the Route table information is not available in NCM Reports.

Environment

NCM 7 and later

Cause

This can occur when logging is enabled or when there are large route tables on one or more devices that overload the inventory process.

Resolution

  1. Verify that logging is disabled:
    1. On the Orion Web Console, go to Settings > NCM Settings > Advanced Settings.
    2. Deselect the boxes under logging.
  2. Verify that the options under arp tables are disabled for inventory:
    1. On the Orion Web Console, go to Settings > NCM Settings > Node Inventory.
    2. Deselect the two boxes under the Route Tables section.
